Bid smarter

Proxy bidding, explained

Can’t watch the clock? Set your maximum bid and let Auctionyx bid on your behalf. We only ever bid the minimum needed to keep you in front — up to, but never beyond, your limit.

If another bidder sets a higher maximum, you’ll be notified instantly so you can decide whether to raise it. Combined with anti-sniping time extensions, it keeps every sale fair right to the final second.

1 · Set your maximum

Enter the most you’re willing to pay. It stays private — no one sees your limit.

2 · We bid for you

Auctionyx automatically counters rivals by the smallest increment to keep you leading.

3 · Win at the best price

You win at one increment above the next-highest bid — often below your maximum.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything to register or bid?

No. Registering, browsing and watching lots is completely free. You only pay if you win a lot, plus the buyer’s premium shown on each sale.

What is a buyer’s premium?

It’s a percentage added to the hammer price, shown clearly on every sale before you bid. It covers cataloguing, authentication and running the auction.

What happens if I’m outbid?

You’ll be notified immediately. If you set a maximum bid, our proxy system keeps bidding for you automatically until your limit is reached — then it’s up to you whether to raise it.

What does “reserve not met” mean?

Some lots carry a confidential minimum price (the reserve). If bidding closes below it, the lot goes unsold and no sale takes place — you’re never charged.

How do I pay and collect a lot I’ve won?

After the sale you’ll receive an invoice with secure payment options. We then arrange fully insured worldwide delivery or local collection — your choice.
